How do I apply to INSIAC?

What are the entry requirements for INSIAC?

For BAC+2 programmes: hold the baccalauréat (all streams accepted). For BAC+3: hold a BAC+2, BTS or DUT. For BAC+5: have completed at least a BAC+3. A strong interest in cybersecurity or IT is appreciated.

What are the application deadlines?

Applications are open from January to July for a September start. We recommend applying before 30 April to maximise your chances, especially for work-study programmes where partner companies recruit early.

When will I receive a response to my application?

After receiving your complete application, our academic committee reviews it within 15 working days. A motivation interview may be arranged. The final decision is communicated within 3 weeks of the interview.

What documents are required for the application file?

Identity document, transcripts for the last 2 years, most recent qualification (or pass certificate), CV, cover letter. For international applicants: certified translations of qualifications and proof of French level (B2 minimum).

What is the difference between BAC+2, BAC+3 and BAC+5 programmes?

The BAC+2 (BTS Cybersecurity) builds foundations: networks, systems, security basics. The BAC+3 (Bachelor) deepens knowledge with specialisations (pentest, SOC, cloud). The BAC+5 (Cybersecurity Expert) trains experts able to design and lead a comprehensive security strategy.

How long do the programmes last?

The BTS lasts 2 years, the Bachelor 1 year (after BAC+2) or 3 years (after baccalauréat), and the Expert Master runs for 2 years. All our programmes can be taken full-time or as work-study.

Can I transfer between programmes during my studies?

A programme change is possible under certain conditions and before the end of the first term. You must submit a request to the academic department, which will assess your profile's compatibility with the new programme.

Are classes in-person or online?

The vast majority of classes take place in person on the Paris campus. Some modules may be delivered in hybrid format (in-person + video conference). We do not offer fully remote programmes to guarantee the quality of practical lab work.

What is the work-study programme (alternance)?

The work-study programme alternates periods of school instruction with periods in a company. The work-study schedule consists of 3 weeks in the company followed by 1 week of classes at INSIAC.

What salary can I expect in a work-study arrangement?

For apprenticeships, salary is calculated as a percentage of the minimum wage (SMIC) based on your age and study level. Expect between €600 and €1,600 gross per month depending on your profile. Professional contracts pay at least 80% of the SMIC or collective agreement.

Who pays tuition fees in a work-study arrangement?

In work-study, tuition fees are covered by the company's OPCO (Skills Operator) up to the applicable funding limits. The student generally pays no tuition fees in a work-study arrangement.

Yes, INSIAC welcomes students from around the world. Non-EU applicants must go through the Campus France process in their home country before applying directly to INSIAC. A minimum B2 level of French is required.

How do I get a student visa for France?

After INSIAC acceptance, you receive an admission letter. Submit your file to Campus France, then apply for a long-stay 'student' visa at the French consulate in your country. Processing time is 4 to 8 weeks depending on the country.

Classes are primarily taught in French. Some advanced modules and technical resources are available in English. A good command of French (B2) is therefore essential to follow the programme effectively.

Yes, our international welcome service provides a list of student residences, specialist agencies and CROUS contacts. We also run welcome sessions at the start of the academic year to ease integration.
